BYU football rises to national prominence

Brigham Young University (BYU) football has achieved a significant national ranking, currently positioned at No. 2 in the nation. The team's recent success includes a victory over No. 2 ranked Notre Dame in Provo, Utah, marking the first time the Irish have visited the campus since 2004.

Owned and operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, BYU maintains a unique institutional culture. The university adheres to a strict honor code that prohibits alcohol, tobacco, coffee, and cursing. Despite these restrictions and a focus on financial self-reliance, the program has maintained national relevance and high athlete retention in an era of significant transfer portal activity.
