BYU prepares to face UCF in Big 12 matchup

No. 2 ranked BYU is set to face UCF this Saturday at the Acrisure Bounce House. The Cougars enter the game with a 6-0 record following an upset victory over Notre Dame, while the Knights hold a 3-3 record.

UCF head coach Scott Frost praised BYU, calling them the “best of the bunch” in the Big 12 and noting their physical play and strong quarterback. This matchup marks the highest-ranked team UCF has ever hosted, surpassing the 2007 Texas Longhorns.

Analytical data suggests BYU holds a defensive advantage in several key metrics, including points per drive, yards per play, and success rate. BYU’s defense ranks 11th in college football for stuff rate, which may pose challenges for UCF’s offense. UCF is expected to play without starting quarterback Alonza Barnett III, who has missed four games due to a hamstring injury; Keyone Jenkins is expected to start in his place.
