C-DOT launches 14 quantum products to secure critical infrastructure

During the 43rd Foundation Day of the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia unveiled 14 new quantum products designed to secure critical infrastructure. These products aim to facilitate a quantum-safe transition for sectors including telecommunications, defense, banking, financial services, insurance (BFSI), and government utilities.

The new technology utilizes a dual-track security architecture: physics-based Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) for critical communications and algorithmic Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC) for enterprise networks. Specific products launched include the Q-AKSHAY CD and Q-AKSHAY MD, which utilize different protocols over optical fiber and are ETSI compliant.

Minister Scindia emphasized the goal of transitioning India from a follower in 4G to a global leader in 6G technology. He urged C-DOT to move beyond research and development to focus on manufacturing and marketing indigenous technologies for the global market, aiming for products that are “made in India but made for the world.”
