C. J. Uzomah announces retirement from NFL
Tight end C. J. Uzomah has announced his retirement from the NFL after a 10-season career. Uzomah officially shared the news via social media, expressing gratitude to Cincinnati, the city where his professional journey began.
Uzomah was selected in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals out of Auburn University. He spent seven seasons with the Bengals, playing a key role in their 2021 postseason run that led to Super Bowl LVI. Following his time in Cincinnati, he played two seasons with the New York Jets and one season with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024. His final season concluded with a Super Bowl LIX championship as a member of the Eagles.
Over his career, Uzomah appeared in 113 games, recording 192 receptions for 1,881 yards and 16 touchdowns.
