C. Joseph Vijay sworn in as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister

C. Joseph Vijay, founder of the TVK party, has been sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu following his party's emergence as the single largest party in recent assembly elections. The new administration has issued its first directive, requiring all state government employees to submit asset details by October 31st.

In addition to the political transition, health officials have issued an alert regarding a sharp rise in fever and dengue cases in Chennai and its suburbs. Over 2,000 people reported fever symptoms in the last 10 days, with 140 confirmed dengue cases. Medical professionals noted that respiratory viruses, including Influenza A and RSV, are also circulating. Authorities are urging residents to eliminate stagnant water to prevent mosquito breeding.

Politically, the Communist Party of India (CPI) and Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) have decided to contest upcoming assembly bypolls in Madurantakam and Dharapuram independently, despite supporting the TVK government. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated ₹5,650 crore in development projects across the state.
