C-SPAN appoints Adele Hixon-Day as first Chief Development Officer
C-SPAN has appointed Adele Hixon-Day as its first Chief Development Officer. The new role is designed to expand the network’s philanthropic support efforts as it seeks to diversify revenue beyond fees from cable, satellite, and streaming partners.
Hixon-Day will lead the organization’s philanthropic strategy, working with foundations, major donors, and individual supporters. The initiative aims to secure commitments to sustain C-SPAN’s public-service mission, including its journalism, civic education, digital innovation, and the modernization of its video archive.
Hixon-Day brings over 15 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, having previously served as Chief Advancement Officer at the Smithsonian Institution and Vice President of Development at the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
