C. Tangana criticizes Pablo Iglesias over left-wing unity

Spanish musician C. Tangana has criticized Pablo Iglesias and the Podemos party regarding their electoral strategy and ability to foster left-wing unity. In a direct message to the former Vice President, the artist questioned the leadership's capacity to build a broad alliance to counter the rise of the far-right party Vox.

Tangana accused Podemos of attempting to “extract political profit from the people's desperation” by prioritizing party interests over a wider progressive coalition. He argued that the urgency of preventing a far-right government should supersede partisan loyalties, stating, “Betraying your party should be mandatory if there is a far-right government on the other side.”

The musician further criticized the perceived lack of leadership, remarking, “What we do not understand is that the leadership is so poor that you are not capable of bringing people together.” He suggested that a more effective electoral tandem would involve figures like Gabriel Rufián and Irene Montero, and advocated for expanding agreements to include other organizations such as Izquierda Unida and Compromís.
