Ca’ Foscari and IOV partner for advanced cancer research
Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and the Istituto Oncologico Veneto (IOV) have signed an agreement to advance joint research in precision oncological immunotherapies. The collaboration focuses on developing innovative therapeutic solutions to combat cancer.
The partnership integrates the university’s expertise in biomolecular engineering with the IOV’s clinical and scientific excellence. Key research areas include the development of macrocyclic peptides for precision theranostics—a method combining diagnostics and therapy—as well as monoclonal antibodies for cytotoxic antibody-drug conjugates and antibody fragments for T-cell based therapies.
Researchers will work across both institutions, specifically within the Biomolecular Engineering laboratory in Mestre and the Immunology and Molecular Oncology Diagnostics research unit. According to IOV Director Patrizia Simionato, the sharing of platforms and advanced tools aims to accelerate the transition from laboratory research to clinical care.
