Ca Mau authorities recover martyr remains from temporary cemeteries

Military search teams in Ca Mau province have successfully recovered two sets of martyr remains from temporary cemeteries. One set was located in Tan Bửu hamlet, Tân Hưng commune, while another was found in the Cầu Chữ Y temporary cemetery in Hồ Thị Kỷ commune.

In the Tan Bửu discovery, officials found coffin boards and rubber components, with the remaining bones having decomposed over time. In the Cầu Chữ Y area, a set of remains was found approximately 1.5 meters underground in relatively intact condition.

Authorities noted that the search process is complicated by changes to the landscape, as much of the former cemetery land has been converted into residential areas, schools, or agricultural plots. Officials are working with local witnesses to identify remaining sites and are collecting biological samples to assist in future identification efforts.
