Ca Mau launches Vietnam's largest tourist hot air balloon
Vietnam's largest tourist hot air balloon was launched at Hung Vuong Square in Ca Mau province on August 31, 2026. The launch was a highlight of the first annual Ca Mau Cultural Heritage Festival and Hot Air Balloon Festival.
The balloon stands approximately 28 meters tall with a diameter of 22 meters. It has a lifting capacity of 1.2 to 1.5 tons and can accommodate between 10 and 12 passengers per flight. Technical crews utilized high-capacity fans and gas burners to inflate the vessel in just over 10 minutes.
Local officials and numerous tourists gathered to witness the ascent under favorable weather conditions. The event is part of regional efforts to promote cultural heritage and tourism in the southern tip of the country.
