Ca Mau police suspend investigation into hospital tender

The Ca Mau Provincial Police have temporarily suspended the investigation into criminal reports regarding tender number 27 of the 1,200-bed Ca Mau General Hospital project. The suspension comes because the verification period has expired without the required forensic conclusions being finalized.

Tender 27, which is valued at 822 billion VND, involves the construction of the hospital's main building. The investigation, which began in February 2026, aims to clarify several issues, including whether the contractor selection process complied with legal regulations, the legitimacy of the bidding documents and contract management, and the capacity of the contractor consortium. Authorities are also examining the project's progress and investigating potential waste or damages.

The 1,200-bed hospital project, which started in 2021, has a total investment exceeding 3,300 billion VND. It is considered a key infrastructure project for Ca Mau province and is expected to be completed by September 2026.
