Ca Mau seeks investment for aquaculture and relocation projects
Ca Mau province is calling for investment to develop a high-tech aquaculture zone covering over 5,000 hectares in coastal areas. The project, with an estimated investment of more than 5,300 billion VND, focuses on intensive shrimp farming and the cultivation of mollusks like green mussels and clams. The initiative aims to modernize the local seafood industry, ensure biological safety, and adapt to climate change.
Separately, Ca Mau plans to invest over 880 billion VND to relocate more than 3,200 households from disaster-prone areas and protected forests. This relocation effort addresses significant erosion along 200 km of coastline and 1,100 km of riverbanks. The province intends to implement 10 projects across 14 residential sites to provide safe housing and stable livelihoods for residents by 2030.
