Ca Mau sets 2030 goals for emergency services and workforce development

Ca Mau province has announced strategic development plans for the 2026–2030 period, focusing on emergency medical services and human resource quality to support economic growth.

Regarding healthcare, the province aims to ensure that ambulances for critical cases depart within five minutes of a dispatch decision by 2030. The plan includes expanding the pre-hospital emergency network to 100% of communes and wards, with a goal of having at least one standard ambulance per 100,000 residents. Additionally, the province intends to develop water, coastal, and maritime emergency services and integrate emergency dispatch systems with police command centers and GPS technology.

To support economic objectives, Ca Mau is implementing measures to enhance its workforce. The province aims for a trained labor rate of 68% by the end of 2026. While the current workforce meets basic needs in sectors like seafood processing and renewable energy, the province faces shortages in high-tech skills, digital literacy, and foreign languages. Efforts are being made to improve vocational training and attract high-quality human resources to support industries such as high-tech shrimp farming, logistics, and smart urban development.
