Ca Mau villa owner begins dismantling illegal structures
Ho An Tap, the owner of a villa famously dubbed the ‘most beautiful building in Ca Mau’ on social media, has begun dismantling approximately 400 square meters of illegal construction in Tan Thanh Ward, Ca Mau Province.
The dismantled structures, which served as a company building with concrete foundations and brick walls, were built without permission on aquaculture land. Authorities determined that 1,303 square meters of the construction must be restored to its original state, while another 2,261 square meters could potentially remain if the owner completes land-use conversion procedures.
Mr. Tap stated that he is unable to pay the required 8.4 billion VND in financial obligations to convert the land from aquaculture to residential use. Due to these economic difficulties, he has opted to dismantle the violating sections to return the land to its original status. He has requested that authorities allow him to convert a smaller portion of the property, specifically the main villa area of over 180 square meters.
