CAA athletes receive weekly honors in cross country and golf

Several student-athletes from the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) have received weekly honors following recent collegiate competitions.

In women's cross country, Elon University freshman Brynne Gordon was named CAA Co-Runner of the Week. Gordon finished as the runner-up in the 5K at the Queen City Invite with a time of 17:23, a performance that ranks as the eighth-fastest 5K in Elon program history. Her performance contributed to Elon securing its second consecutive team championship at the event.

In women's golf, William & Mary freshman Abigail Avallone was named CAA Co-Golfer of the Week. Avallone tied for the individual title at the Elon Invitational after a final-round 3-under 68, finishing with a total score of 3-under 210. She shared the weekly honor with Elon's Lilli Downer. Avallone's performance helped William & Mary secure a second-place team finish at the 15-team tournament.
