Cañadón Seco hosts vegetable garden training workshop

In Cañadón Seco, a training workshop focused on the creation and management of vegetable gardens was held at the Proveeduría Cultural. Led by agricultural engineer Sofía Chiavassa, the session provided practical tools for planning and developing food production spaces.

The initiative, part of the ‘Activa tu Huerta’ program, was a collaborative effort between the Cañadón Seco Commission and the Santa Cruz Provincial Government through the Provincial Agrarian Council (CAP). The program aims to strengthen community, school, and family gardens to promote food sovereignty under the public policy of Governor Claudio Vidal.

During the event, participants received seeds to support the start or expansion of their own production areas. Local communal president Gabriel Galarza emphasized that these training spaces serve as concrete tools to bolster local production and provide new opportunities for community families.
