Cabezón de la Sal to host first agro-food fair

Cabezón de la Sal will host its first agro-food fair, ‘Cocinar en Origen’, on Saturday, September 5. Held at Parque Conde San Diego from 11:00 to 22:00, the event will feature over forty stalls showcasing fifteen types of agro-food products alongside Cantabrian crafts.

The program includes musical performances by Banduca Traslarroza and the Coro Ronda Amigos de Ruente, as well as a tribute to Carmina Iglesias. A highlight of the event is a live ‘show cooking’ session of cocido montañés, a traditional Cantabrian dish, organized by the local Senior Citizens Association, followed by a tasting.

Activities for children will include workshops and puppet storytelling. The day will conclude with a chocolate and sobado pasiego tasting provided by the Senior Citizens Association. María Jesús Susinos, the Counselor for Rural Development and Food, noted that the initiative celebrates Cantabria's gastronomic identity and cultural heritage.
