Cabimas announces schedule for Virgin of the Rosary festivities

Ecclesiastical and municipal authorities in Cabimas have announced the official schedule for the patron saint festivities in honor of the Virgin of the Rosary. Under the theme ‘María del Rosario, consuelo de nuestro pueblo’, the celebrations are set to run from late September through October 31.

Due to high expected attendance, the traditional ‘Bajada de la Virgen’ on September 26 will be held in an open-air format. While the descent of the image will occur inside the Cathedral, the ceremony will be broadcast via giant screens to the crowds gathered outside. The event will include musical tributes and a procession.

The extensive calendar includes various community activities such as school parades, art exhibitions, sporting events at the Víctor Davalillo stadium, and a lake excursion on October 12. The festivities will culminate on October 31 with the ‘Procesión de la Aurora’.
