Cabimas installs Historical and Cultural Heritage Board

The Historical and Cultural Heritage Board of the Cabimas municipality has been formally installed at the Javier Fernández Theater. This move complies with Article 56 of the Organic Law of Municipal Public Power.

Led by Director Pedro Querales, the board aims to preserve, recognize, evaluate, and conserve both the material and immaterial heritage of the locality. The initiative seeks to safeguard tangible and intangible assets and recognize distinguished citizens—both living and deceased—who have contributed to local development in fields such as medicine, engineering, journalism, art, and economy.

The collegiate body includes representatives from various local and academic institutions, including the University of Zulia (LUZ), the Rafael María Baralt National Experimental University (UNERMB), the City Chronicler, and the Local Council for Public Planning (CLPP). City chronicler Dionisio Brito emphasized the importance of this institutional step in protecting the historical memory and representative spaces of the community.
