Cablebús expansion proceeds in Mexico City while Puebla residents protest project

The Mexico City government announced that new Cablebús lines 4, 5 and 6 are under construction, adding about 40 kilometres of infrastructure and an investment of more than 17 billion pesos. The projects will connect five boroughs, serve over 200 000 daily riders, and are slated for completion between late 2028 and mid‑2028, with Line 4 expected first.

In Puebla, residents of the Resurgimiento neighbourhood blocked streets demanding that Governor Alejandro Armenta halt the Cablebús extension, reflecting local opposition to the transit project in the state.
