Cabo San Lucas announces eighth Copa Presidente Marlini fishing tournament

The eighth edition of the Copa Presidente Marlini 2026 has been announced for Cabo San Lucas. The sport fishing tournament is scheduled to take place on November 1, with registrations held on October 31. The competition features categories for dorado, wahoo, and tuna, and offers a guaranteed prize pool of one million pesos.

Organizers, including the Los Cabos municipal government and Grupo Marlini, stated that the event will return to the official program of the Cabo San Lucas Traditional Festivals. This follows a previous edition that required a date change due to weather conditions. The tournament aims to support the local fishing sector, promote tourism, and boost the regional economy. Following the participation of 66 teams in the previous edition, organizers hope to match or exceed that number for the upcoming competition.
