Cabo San Lucas firefighter issues safety warnings following worker fatality

A young worker died on Tuesday, November 3, in Cabo San Lucas after an alleged electric shock during welding work for a billboard installation. According to witnesses, the individual was on a ladder approximately four meters high when the shock caused them to lose balance and fall. Despite resuscitation efforts by the Heroico Cuerpo de Bomberos de Cabo San Lucas, the worker could not be revived.

The State Attorney General's Office has launched an investigation to determine the precise causes of death and evaluate safety conditions at the car wash establishment where the accident occurred.

Separately, the Cabo San Lucas Fire Department has issued a preventive warning ahead of the Baja 1000 off-road race scheduled for November 9 to 15. Fire Commander Juan Carbajal Figueroa urged spectators to avoid high-risk areas, such as curves and maneuver zones, to prevent accidents caused by people attempting to capture photos or videos in dangerous locations.
