Cabo San Lucas firefighters conduct two rescues amid hurricane conditions

Emergency responders in Cabo San Lucas addressed two separate rescue operations on Friday, September 25. In the first incident, a worker became partially buried in a trench at a construction site located in the Tourist Corridor near Playa Las Viudas. Although workers at the site had already freed the individual by the time the Cabo San Lucas Fire Department arrived, emergency personnel provided first aid and transported the worker to a hospital for medical evaluation.

Earlier that morning, around 6:00 AM, firefighters responded to a call at Playa El Médano after a man was swept away by strong waves. The individual was located near the Hotel Me Cabo and received medical attention on-site; he did not require hospital transport and was reported to be in good condition.

Authorities noted that the increased wave activity and hazardous conditions are linked to the proximity of Hurricane Polo to the coast of Baja California Sur. Fire Department Commander Juan Carbajal Figueroa emphasized the importance of suspending construction activities under risky conditions and urged the public to exercise caution near the ocean.
