Cabo Verde industrial production grows 11.7% in Q2 2026
Cabo Verde's industrial production grew by 11.7% in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. According to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE), production also rose 9.2% compared to the first three months of the same year.
The extractive industry saw the most significant growth at 38.3%, while the manufacturing sector grew by 14%. Specific sub-sectors showed varied results: food production increased by 24.5% and the clothing industry rose by 31.8%, whereas footwear production declined by 14.6%.
Other positive trends included an 8.7% increase in electricity, gas, and water production, and a 9.4% rise in water treatment and distribution. Despite the increase in production volume, the turnover index grew more modestly, rising only 0.2% year-on-year.
