Cabot Corporation posts Q3 FY2026 earnings, names Erica McLaughlin as new CEO

Cabot Corporation reported third‑quarter fiscal 2026 results with diluted earnings per share of $0.12 and adjusted earnings per share of $1.67, a 4% sequential increase. The Performance Chemicals segment posted EBIT of $68 million, up 19% year‑over‑year, while the Reinforcement Materials segment saw EBIT decline to $97 million. The company expanded its battery‑materials capacity with investments in the United States and China and reaffirmed an expectation of about $40 million of EBITDA for the full year. Cabot also received a Platinum rating from EcoVadis for sustainability performance for the sixth consecutive year.

The board announced a leadership transition: President and CEO Sean Keohane will retire on September 30 2026 after 25 years with the company, and Executive Vice President and CFO Erica McLaughlin will assume the roles of President and CEO on October 1 2026. Keohane will remain in an advisory capacity through the end of 2026. Cabot tightened its full‑year adjusted EPS guidance to a range of $6.15‑$6.45, citing geopolitical uncertainty, volatile energy and raw‑material costs, and mixed end‑market demand.
