Cabras reports success with new waste management services
The Municipality of Cabras has reported positive initial results from new waste management services introduced in June across the Sinis coast. Data collected between late July and early August indicates high usage of the new systems despite heavy seasonal tourism.
In Is Arutas, the ‘Ecoisola’ service recorded over 1,600 accesses. In San Giovanni di Sinis, the ‘Eco-Navetta’ shuttle service saw more than 600 uses. Local authorities noted that these figures demonstrate effective engagement from residents, second-home owners, and tourists.
Customer satisfaction surveys for the Eco-Navetta service show high approval ratings, with average scores reaching up to 9.82 out of 10. Users specifically praised the courtesy of operators, schedule consistency, and ease of use. Additionally, monitoring at the Is Arutas Ecoisola has shown a significant reduction in illegal waste abandonment, with checks finding a maximum of only 10 abandoned bags at any one time.
