Cachoeira do Sul signs urban bus service contract and launches driver training program

The municipality of Cachoeira do Sul in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, approved a 12‑month contract with Expresso Presidente Getúlio to operate its urban public‑bus system. The agreement, worth about R$ 7.7 million, requires the operator to begin service within 45 days, running 16 buses on weekdays and eight on weekends and holidays.

At the same time, the local SEST SENAT partnered to provide training, qualification and recruitment for transport workers, offering courses and health services that delivered 130 appointments in five days. The programme aims to prepare staff for the new operation.
