Cachoeira hosts Pierre Verger itinerant photography exhibition

The city of Cachoeira in Bahia is hosting the ‘Caravana Verger’ itinerant exhibition, featuring 80 photographs taken by Pierre Verger during the 1940s and 1950s. The collection focuses on themes of popular culture.

The exhibition is being held at Praça 25 de junho, facing the Rio Paraguaçu, and is open to the public for free until August 23. Organized by the Pierre Verger Foundation, the event commemorates 80 years since the French ethnologist and anthropologist arrived in Bahia. The opening program includes musical performances such as samba de roda and contributions from various local artists.
