Cachoeirinha judge denies mandate revocation for Mayor Jussara Caçapava

A judge in Cachoeirinha has dismissed an Electoral Judicial Investigation Action (AIJE) against Mayor Jussara Caçapava (Avante) and her vice-mayor, Luis Carlos Azevedo da Rosa, known as Mano do Parque (PL). The lawsuit, filed by the Progressistas (PP) municipal directory and candidate Claudine Silveira, sought to revoke their mandates and declare them ineligible for eight years following a supplementary election.

The allegations claimed the administration used eight private social media pages on Instagram and Facebook to promote the mayor's image and attack political opponents. However, the court ruled the claims were unfounded, noting a lack of evidence regarding political power abuse, economic abuse, or misuse of social media.

Evidence from Meta Platforms Inc. and telecommunications operators confirmed the social media accounts belonged to independent citizens. The judge noted that the administration of these pages appeared independent and that the municipality maintained a pluralistic communication environment with various political viewpoints present.
