Cactus releases '300 Pounds of Joy' single featuring Ty Tabor
The rock band Cactus has released a new single, a cover of the 1963 Howlin' Wolf song '300 Pounds of Joy,' featuring Ty Tabor of King's X. The track is part of the band's recent album, Temple of Blues 2.
This release marks the third blues classic cover from the new album, following previous singles 'Little Red Rooster' featuring Dee Snider and 'Back Door Man' featuring Eric Gales. Carmine Appice, the last remaining founding member of the group originally formed in 1969, noted that the intention for this project was to create a dedicated blues album.
Temple of Blues 2 is currently available in digital, CD, and vinyl formats through Cleopatra Records.
