Cactus Teatre presents post-war women's history in Ontinyent
Cactus Teatre will present “Rogles de cançons i misèria” at the Teatro Echegaray in Ontinyent. The production uses theater, music, and traditional songs to reconstruct the daily lives of women during the post-war period.
The performance focuses on five specific settings: the laundry, sewing, kitchen, childbirth, and the rosary. These scenes aim to portray the domestic labor, material hardships, and social obligations of the era, while also highlighting themes of solidarity and community resilience among women.
Directed by Paula Llorens and Isabel Martí, the show has previously received the Verlanga award for best breakout show. The event is part of the municipal autumn cultural program and includes educational sessions for students.
