Cadaqués police officer assaulted during local concert

A local police officer in Cadaqués was injured during the ‘Ball d’Istiú’ concert after being struck in the nose by an individual. The officer required hospital treatment following the assault. During the subsequent transport of the suspect, the individual reportedly destroyed the security partition inside the police vehicle.

Two off-duty Mossos d’Esquadra agents assisted local police in subduing the aggressor. Following the incident, the CSIF union has called on the Cadaqués City Council to join the criminal proceedings as a private prosecutor and to increase local police staffing. The union highlighted the risks of operating with only a single patrol covering the entire municipality during high-attendance events.

The Cadaqués City Council has expressed support for the officers involved and acknowledged the assistance of the Mossos d’Esquadra. The administration stated it is working to expand the local police force, noting that multiple selection processes have been initiated this year to fill available positions.
