Caddo Parish issues mandatory outdoor burn ban

Caddo Parish has implemented a mandatory outdoor burn ban, effective immediately, due to extreme drought conditions and high fire danger. The Caddo Parish Fire Chiefs Association cited a lack of adequate rainfall and extremely dry vegetation as the primary drivers for the decision, noting that no significant rain is expected in the two-week forecast.

The ban prohibits all forms of outdoor burning, including burn piles, barrel burns, campfires, fireworks, and general open burning of leaves, brush, or debris.

Similar mandatory burn bans have been issued in neighboring DeSoto Parish in Louisiana, as well as several counties across the ArkLaTex region, including Marion, Panola, Rusk, Shelby, and Upshur counties in Texas, and Columbia, Lafayette, Hempstead, Howard, Miller, and Sevier counties in Arkansas.
