Cadidavid residents protest CasaPound national rally in Verona
More than 300 citizens gathered in the Cadidavid district of Verona to hold a peaceful anti-fascist demonstration. The protest was organized in response to a four-day national congress hosted by CasaPound, an extreme-right political movement, at a private facility in the area.
The CasaPound event includes debates on controversial topics such as “remigration,” concerts by far-right bands, and the potential participation of groups like Veneto Fronte Skinheads. In response to the rally, local residents formed the “Comitato Spontaneo Cadidavid per la Democrazia e la Costituzione” to assert the neighborhood’s anti-fascist identity. This spontaneous committee has received support from approximately 40 different organizations, including associations, political parties, and unions.
