Cadillac expands XT5 PHEV lineup in China with new Air version
SAIC-GM has announced the launch of the Cadillac XT5 PHEV Air, a new entry-level version of the 2027 plug-in hybrid crossover in China. This addition follows the recent introduction of the electrified model to the Chinese market.
The Air variant expands the XT5 PHEV lineup, which now includes the Air, Pro, and Pro Max trims to target different price points and consumer profiles. While the new version maintains the same body design and powertrain as the higher-tier models, it features a simplified equipment package. Specifically, it replaces the Momenta R7 driver assistance system, which utilizes LiDAR, with a more basic alternative. The Air model also features unique 20-inch wheels and a monochromatic interior with silver accents.
Technically, the XT5 PHEV utilizes a dual-electric motor plug-in hybrid system with all-wheel drive, producing a total output of 270 kW (362 PS). The vehicle is equipped with a lithium-ion battery that supports 5C fast charging.
