Cadillac F1 recruits top engineers from Red Bull and Mercedes

Cadillac F1 has announced the recruitment of three high-profile engineers to strengthen its technical department as it works to accelerate development. The new hires include Craig Skinner, Eric Blandin, and Tim Lean.

Craig Skinner, formerly the Chief Designer at Red Bull Racing, joins as Chief Development Engineer. His experience includes working on championship-winning cars such as the RB19. Eric Blandin, who previously held senior roles at Mercedes and Aston Martin, will serve as Head of Aerodynamics. Tim Lean, with a background at McLaren, Red Bull, and Ferrari, joins as Chief Engineer for Aerodynamics Modeling and Simulation.

The appointments follow the recent replacement of Team Principal Graeme Lowdon by Marcin Budkowski. Budkowski stated that these roles are a ‘vital step in the technical evolution of the team,’ aimed at creating a more integrated technical organization to improve on-track performance. The new staff members are expected to join the Silverstone-based team over the coming months, though some may face delays due to contractual gardening leave obligations.
