Cadillac F1 replaces team principal Graeme Lowdon with Marcin Budkowski

Cadillac F1 has undergone a significant leadership change during the summer break, replacing founding team principal Graeme Lowdon with Marcin Budkowski. The decision, confirmed by TWG Motorsports CEO Dan Towriss, follows a challenging start to the season for the new American outfit.

Despite successfully building a 400-employee structure across Silverstone and North Carolina to meet the 2026 entry requirements, the team has struggled with performance and reliability. After eleven Grand Prix appearances, the team recorded nine retirements and has yet to score a point. Drivers Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez have faced recurring issues, including production quality concerns and brake failures.

Budkowski, a veteran engineer with 25 years of experience at Ferrari, McLaren, Renault, and the FIA, is tasked with transitioning the team from its foundational phase to a competitive racing structure. His mission focuses on improving technical direction, production processes, and the connection between the factory and the track.
