Cadillac F1 team targets Barcelona redemption after Monaco penalty

In Monaco, driver Sergio Perez received a penalty that turned a potential points finish into a 15th‑place result for the American‑owned Cadillac Formula 1 team. Team manager Graeme Lowdon said the penalty highlighted the growing expectations on the squad as it approaches its sixth race of the season.

Ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix at Barcelona, a circuit familiar from pre‑season testing, Perez expressed confidence, stating, “All the team arrives in Barcelona extremely motivated.” He emphasized the need for a flawless weekend to restore momentum after the disappointment in Monaco. The team hopes the predictable nature of the Barcelona track will allow it to showcase its progress and secure points.

Cadillac, now competing more closely with established teams after six races, sees the Barcelona event as a crucial opportunity to demonstrate its potential and regain standing in the championship.
