Cadillac F1 appoints Marcin Budkowski as new Team Principal

Cadillac Formula 1 has announced a leadership change, appointing veteran engineer Marcin Budkowski as the new Team Principal. Budkowski replaces Graeme Lowdon, who was instrumental in building the team from its inception. The transition occurs during the mid-season summer break, ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix.

CEO Dan Towriss stated that the decision was his and represented a planned transition to move the team from its initial construction phase into a phase focused on racing performance. While the team has struggled in its inaugural season, sitting at the bottom of the constructors' championship without points after 11 races, Towriss emphasized the need for a clear vision that aligns with the ambitions of owners General Motors and the TWG Group.

Budkowski brings over two decades of Formula 1 experience, having held roles at Ferrari, McLaren, the FIA, and Renault/Alpine. His primary objective will be to maximize car development within the cost cap and build an elite organization. The team's current driver lineup includes Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez.
