Cadillac in talks to hire former Red Bull designer Craig Skinner

Cadillac is in concrete negotiations to hire Craig Skinner, the former head designer at Red Bull Racing. Skinner played a pivotal role in the development of the cars that secured Max Verstappen’s Formula 1 world titles in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Skinner spent approximately twenty years at Red Bull Racing, serving as Chief Aerodynamicist before succeeding Adrian Newey as Chief Designer. Following an abrupt departure from Red Bull earlier this year, he is currently serving a mandatory gardening leave. While Alpine has also expressed interest in his services, reports indicate that Skinner is inclined toward joining the American organization.

This potential recruitment is part of Cadillac’s broader effort to bolster its young Formula 1 project. The team is also reportedly pursuing other high-level talent, including Red Bull’s chief engineer for car engineering, Paul Monaghan, to strengthen its technical structure.
