Cadillac introduces new Ferrari engine for Sergio Pérez in Azerbaijan

Cadillac is implementing technical changes ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, including the introduction of a new Ferrari ADUO 2 power unit for driver Sergio Pérez. The new engine is expected to provide advantages in horsepower and top speed, which are critical factors for the Baku circuit. The team also plans to test new aerodynamic improvements during free practice sessions.

Strategically, Cadillac is shifting its focus toward long-term development. The team has decided to prioritize resources for the 2027 car, effectively concluding much of the immediate development for the current season. Team director Marcin Budkowski noted that the upcoming sequence of races outside of Europe will place significant pressure on the team.

Sergio Pérez acknowledged that this strategic pivot toward future performance will make the final races of the current season “very painful,” as technical and economic resources are redirected to ensure a solid foundation for upcoming years.
