Cadillac unveils major upgrade package for Austrian Grand Prix

Cadillac announced a major upgrade package for the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring, featuring revised side‑pods and a new floor designed to generate around 10 points of additional down‑force. The team hopes the changes, along with reliability updates to cooling, will help drivers Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez move closer to the midfield and secure the squad’s first championship points.

Team director Graeme Lowdon described the package as the “largest set of improvements to date,” while Bottas said the upgrades are “a decent step forward” and expressed confidence in his knowledge of the circuit. Pérez echoed the optimism, noting the team’s steady progress and aiming to close the gap to rivals.

Cadillac continues to run a Ferrari power unit and will decide shortly whether to adopt Ferrari’s latest engine upgrade, which became available at the same weekend. Separately, the team’s long‑term plan is to develop its own V6 hybrid power unit by 2029 and to stay ready for potential future V8 regulations.
