Volkswagen and Cadillac expand electric vehicle presence in Brazil

Major automakers are expanding their electric vehicle presence in Brazil. Volkswagen will begin official sales of the ID. 4 SUV in October, priced at R$ 299,990. Previously available only through subscription services, the imported German model features an updated 286 cv motor, an 84 kWh battery with an Inmetro-certified range of 389 km, and fast-charging capabilities that can reach 80% capacity in approximately 25 minutes.

Simultaneously, General Motors is launching the luxury brand Cadillac in the Brazilian market. Starting in mid-September, Cadillac will open pre-sales for its LYRIQ and VISTIQ electric SUVs. The brand is also establishing physical experience centers in São Paulo, Curitiba, and Brasília.

Additionally, Chevrolet is preparing to introduce an electrified sedan developed through a joint venture with SAIC and Wuling in China to compete with brands like BYD and GWM in South America.
