Cadours to host annual Purple Garlic Festival

The town of Cadours in Haute-Garonne will host its annual Purple Garlic Festival on August 29 and 30, 2026. The event celebrates the local agricultural heritage and the specific expertise involved in producing this regional condiment.

To promote the festivities, the Haute-Garonne Departmental Council and the Syndicat de l’ail violet de Cadours have launched a social media contest. Participants have the opportunity to win two hand-braided tresses of purple garlic, which represent the culmination of a year of manual labor and traditional preservation techniques.
