Children and young people under the age of 17 can access all Cadw-run historic sites and monuments in Wales for free this Sunday, 13 September. The initiative celebrates Owain Glyndŵr Day, marking the anniversary of when Glyndŵr was declared Prince of Wales in 1400.

Owain Glyndŵr led a 15-year rebellion against English rule under Henry IV. Many of the sites included in the free entry offer, such as Kidwelly, Dinefwr, Coity, and Caernarfon castles, were involved in the historical uprising.

Special events are scheduled at various locations to commemorate the occasion. These include a parade at Harlech Castle and costumed guided tours at Criccieth Castle. Heledd Fychan, the Minister for Culture and Sport, noted that the initiative aims to bring history to life for younger generations.
