Cadzand kite festival ends after 40 years

The long-running kite festival in Cadzand, Zeeland, has concluded its final edition after 40 years. The organizers, Herman van Liere and Marijn de Grip, decided to end the event following four decades of operation.

Despite the milestone, the final weekend faced challenges due to low wind speeds, affecting the visibility of the kites. Regular participants expressed sadness over the festival's conclusion, with some attempting to contact the municipality of Sluis to discuss the possibility of continuing the tradition in a different format.
