CAE secures $300M U.S. Air Force contract for C-130 training
CAE Inc. has secured a $300 million contract with the U.S. Air Force to continue providing flight training for C-130 Hercules crews through 2035. The contract, awarded to the company's American defense division, covers the instruction and operational support of pilots, flight engineers, navigators, and loadmasters.
Training will be conducted at several U.S. locations, including Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas, as well as bases in Georgia, Wyoming, Minnesota, and Missouri. The agreement includes program management, maintenance, logistics, cybersecurity solutions, and equipment upgrades.
This deal arrives amid escalating trade tensions between Canada and the United States. On September 16, President Donald Trump issued a decree banning the U.S. federal government from procuring Canadian items. It remains unclear if this ban applies to services or if Canadian companies operating through U.S. subsidiaries are exempt.
