Caernarfon Town sets club record with 9-1 win
Caernarfon Town achieved a club record in the Cymru Premier on Friday night, securing a 9-1 victory over Cambrian United. This result marks the largest win in the club's history in its 22nd season in the Welsh top flight, surpassing their previous record of 8-0 set in the 2003-04 season.
Despite Cambrian United taking an early lead through Ashley Evans in the 16th minute, Caernarfon responded with three goals before halftime from Zack Clarke, Paulo Mendes, and Jake Canavan. The match saw significant disciplinary action, including red cards for Caernarfon goalkeeper Connor Roberts and Cambrian's Joshua Beecher in the 35th minute, as well as a later dismissal for Cambrian's Kyle Jones in the 54th minute.
Following the red card to Roberts, substitute goalkeeper Hari Thomas maintained a clean sheet for the remainder of the match. Nine different Caernarfon players scored during the rout, including Sion Bradley, Adrian Cieslewicz, Ryan Sears, Noah Edwards, Matty Jones, and Offrande Zanzala.
