Caetano Bacigalupo wins international jiu-jitsu title in Chicago

Nine-year-old Peruvian athlete Caetano Bacigalupo won the IBJJF Chicago Summer Kids International Open, marking his fourth international jiu-jitsu title in just two months.

Bacigalupo entered the competition as the world number one and remained undefeated, defeating competitors from prominent American academies including Checkmat, Carlson Gracie Team, and Six Blades Jiu-Jitsu. This victory follows his recent championship wins at the Campeonato Brasileiro de Jiu-Jitsu Crianças in São Paulo, the Mundial de Luta Livre Esportiva in Rio de Janeiro, and the Panamericano Pan Kids Jiu-Jitsu in Florida.

To achieve this streak, Bacigalupo spent several weeks of his school holidays training and competing abroad. His father and manager, Daniel Bacigalupo, stated that the team provides high-level preparation involving physical trainers, nutritionists, and physiotherapists to prepare the athlete for future world titles.
