CAEXPO 2026 showcases China-ASEAN green industry and trade

The 23rd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) in Nanning serves as a major platform for green industry and economic cooperation between China and ASEAN nations. The event features specialized exhibitions for smart energy, new energy vehicles, and connected intelligent vehicles.

In the energy sector, the China Electricity Council has proposed initiatives focusing on green energy deepening, digital innovation, and cross-regional connectivity. Laos has highlighted 29 joint electricity projects with China, aiming for a capacity of 13,900 MW. Currently, 16 cross-border interconnections exist between China and ASEAN, facilitating over 75 billion kWh of green electricity supply.

On the commercial front, PT Pertamina is utilizing the expo to expand international market access for seven of its partner micro and small enterprises (UMK). This initiative aims to connect Indonesian local products, such as tempeh chips and certified teak wood kitchenware, with potential buyers from China and the broader ASEAN region to foster long-term business relationships.
